🌸🌸🌸Spring Fairytale: A Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo🌸🌸🌸
Spring in Japan it’s a time for festivals – Hanami (admire the beauty of cherry blossoms), when cherry blossoms bloom and Japan is showing one of its most beautiful sides.
During this time, locals and visitors go to parks and gardens. Spreading plastic blue blankets under blooming sakura trees and enjoying Japanese food and drink with friends, family, or colleagues. This is a time for a special drink called Sakura, made with the addition of Cherry blossoms.
In every city and village you can find many places, parks, streets, gardens, temples and rivers for admiring Cherry blossoms.
Let’s find our favorite place or places in amazing Tokyo.
I suggest visiting several beautiful places to admire Sakura in Tokyo:
10:00 your tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby
In the morning, we’ll visit one of Japan’s most popular Cherry blossom spots – Chidorigafuchi Moat.
The park is located on the grounds of the Imperial Palace.
A moat runs through the park, along the banks of which you’ll see hundreds of sakura trees.
You can rent a boat (booking in advance) and admire cherry blossoms on a boat ride. It’s a very picturesque sight and a favorite among Tokyo residents.
Our next destination is Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, one of Tokyo’s most beautiful and peaceful parks.
The garden is a family-friendly park, famous for cherry blossoms, walks, and a relaxing atmosphere.
12:00 Lunch under the cherry blossoms. Typically Japanese obento, or we can have lunch at a cafe in the Shinjuku area.
Next, let’s head to Hamarikyu Gardens.
Hamarikyu Garden is located on the banks of the Sumida River where it flows into Tokyo Bay.
Here we can have green tea or matcha at the Nakajima-no-Ocha-ya teahouse, located on an island in the lake in the center of the park.
Our next stop is the Meguro River.
Meguro River in Nakameguro station is one of Tokyo’s most popular cherry blossom spots. Evening walks along the river offer a magical experience of illuminated sakura.
